Tustin, CA, November 27, 2012 - National mortgage banker, New American Funding, hosted for the third year in a row their Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. All of the food donated by employees will go to Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, a local non-profit, and will help feed the less fortunate during the holiday season.

The Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County began in 1983 with the vision to eliminate hunger in Orange County. The Food Bank currently serves over 470 member charities and feeds over 240,000 individuals each month, including the working poor, children, the disabled, the homeless and more.

This year, New American Funding had great participation from employees, donations more than doubled from last year’s drive. In total, the mortgage company donated 2,211 pounds of food which will make up 1,842 meals to feed the less fortunate during the winter season. Employees contributed a variety of foods including canned meats, pasta, rice, beans, canned fruits, soups, hot and cold cereal and peanut butter. Personal care items were also collected including diapers, toothpaste, soap, toilet tissue, band-aids and more.
